THE appointment of former BBC Scotland head of news and current affairs, Blair Jenkins, as chief executive of the campaign urging a Yes vote during the upcoming independence referendum had the Scottish Daily Express diarist yesterday making – no doubt tongue-in-cheek – a solemn promise.
Wrote Hickey: “I am told that the organisation is being advised by Mr Gordon Hay and Mr Ian McKerron [“two of Scotland’s most experienced former Fleet Street journalists”], former chums to whom I never intend speaking again.”
