The Scottish Daily Express’s diarist, Hickey, was clearly in a more grumpy mood than usual when penning his column for yesterday.
He wrote: “Throughout the weekend, the main Scottish news item on BBC Scotland was the fact that Mr Russell Crowe, an actor, had come to Sco’lan’ and had graced the set of a planned film.
“This earth-shattering bulletin presumably gives us an idea of what Lord Soapy’s appalling ‘Scottish Broadcasting Corporation’ will be like after all news from south of the Border is banned.
“Fact: an independent Scotland is to be based on the old Deutsche Demokratische Republik, apparently, with a fence from Marshall Meadows to the Solway.”
