THE Ephraim Hardcastle column, in today’s Scottish Daily Mail, pokes some gentle fun at Edinburgh-born Tory MP, Michael Gove, lately assistant editor of The Times and the reporting staff of the Press and Journal, and now Education Secretary in the Coalition Government, and his fellow-journalist wife, Sarah Vine.
Reports Hardcastle: “Woman’s Hour on Radio 4 discussed ‘date nights’, a sentimental notion espoused by President Obama and First Lady Michelle, whereby they go out on romantic trysts.
“A guest on the show, journalist Sarah Vine, said: ‘I don’t really do romance – and if I did I wouldn’t want it to be time-tabled.’”
Hardcastle comments: “Really? Yet husband (Education Secretary Michael Gove, 42) seems a cheerful enough fellow.”
