Apologies. The very popular ‘Headline of the month’ competition run by allmediascotland, in association with whisky folk, Whyte & Mackay, has been allowed to slip off the radar these last couple of weeks.
It’s because there’s lots of behind-the-scenes stuff going on, to improve the AMS offering – which will be launched soon. The eNewsletter is also proving a victim of the developmental work currently ongoing.
So, thanks to those of you who have sent contenders these last two or three weeks; they will have their moment any day now.
And to help kick-start proceedings, here’s a headline from yesterday’s Edinburgh Evening News, penned by editor, Tom Little, and nominated by Ashley Davies, the obituaries and letters and obituaries editor at Scotsman Publications.
It reads: ‘Lies, Tram Lies and Statistics?’.
Up for grabs each month are bottles of Whyte & Mackay Special whisky – for both the author of the headline and the person who has nominated it, with the monthly winners entered in a ‘Headline of the year’ competition where two bottles, each worth £150, of Whyte & Mackay 30 year-old are the prizes.
Eligible are headlines in Scottish newspapers (national and local), plus Scottish magazines and online.
