TODAY’S Scottish Daily Mail carries an article by Rob Robertson about the French rugby player, Mathieu Bastareaud, who is hoping to play against Scotland in the upcoming Six Nations.
But last year, The French centre created something of a diplomatic incident when it was revealed that he had badly damaged his eye, not following an assault by a group of New Zealanders – as originally claimed – but because he had fallen, while drunk.
The tale prompts a rather fine contender in allmediascotland’s ‘Headline of the month’ competition – run in association with whisky folk, Whyte & Mackay.
It reads: ‘Inglorious Bastareaud’.
Up for grabs each month are bottles of Whyte & Mackay Special whisky – for both the author of the headline and the person who has nominated it, with the monthly winners entered in a ‘Headline of the year’ competition where two bottles, each worth £150, of Whyte & Mackay 30 year-old are the prizes.
Eligible are headlines in Scottish newspapers (national and local), plus Scottish magazines and online.
