In 2014, Glasgow will be staging one of the biggest sporting events in the world. The Commonwealth Games attracts thousands of athletes and officials from 71 nations and territories from across the globe. Hundreds of thousands of spectators are expected and the global television and online audience will number in millions.
The attention of the world’s media will also be focused on Glasgow in the run up to, and during, the Games. It’s an exciting time for the city and the Glasgow 2014 Organising Committee is determined to stage an athlete centred and sport focused Games that will generate a positive lasting legacy for all involved for years to come.
Within the Marketing Department of the OC, there is currently an opportunity to join our Publications team as an Editorial Services Coordinator
The Editorial Services Co-ordinator will be expected to deliver a high standard of written content and communications for Glasgow 2014. The Editorial Services Coordinator will need to quickly develop an excellent knowledge and understanding of Glasgow 2014.
The role will include providing content for a wide range of reporting channels both internally and externally and will require the highest standard of writing and copy creation.
The successful candidate will already be experienced in writing copy and collateral for marketing campaigns, speech writing, and editorial across a wide range of subject matters.
The candidate will also have to display excellent relationship building skills by liaising with other functional areas within the OC, as well as establishing effective communications with Games Partners, suppliers and other stakeholders.
This role is fantastic opportunity for an individual with experience of creating editorial and copy for a wide range of communications channels. It is an opportunity to produce engaging and compelling content for a range of platforms.
Glasgow 2014 is a very fast paced and often high-pressured environment and applicants should be confident that they can perform effectively under these circumstances whilst still maintaining accuracy and an eye for detail. It is essential that the Editorial Co-ordinator has an excellent knowledge and understanding of the current Scottish political and economic environment.
