IT’S a simple proposition requiring a provisional ‘yes’ from anyone seriously interested in joining.
Here’s the deal: Edinburgh city centre venue, requiring a bit – not too much – injection of energy. Could be ideal location for a Scottish Media Club, offering a convivial setting to do business and to relax.
Would be still open to the public, but would feel ‘media’, ie the day’s newspapers, etc. There would be some occasions when it is members-only.
Regular speakers – some big, some less big – plus events, parties and dinners. Maybe a Festival of Journalism.
Cost? Zero – to people working in the media (newspapers, TV, PR, radio, marketing, etc) and film – except for the annual purchase of a £100 swipe card redeemable against food and drink in the premises.
Membership would provide first refusal and a discount on ticketed events.
