A senior news reporter at the Daily Record is joining The Scottish Sun.
Chris Musson is one of 19 new appointments as The Scottish Sun operates a seven-days-a-week operation.
He left the Record last week and will be taking up the post of Scottish Home Affairs editor next month.
The Scottish Sun has also hired Bob Caldwell, former Record deputy editor, as assistant sports editor. David Friel, ex Celtic View magazine, joins as a sports writer, as does freelance, Robert Thomson.
Says the paper's editor, Andy Harries: “I'm delighted that The Scottish Sun's formidable editorial team is being further strengthened by these appointments. The 19 new jobs represent a significant investment in The Scottish Sun, and is good news for Scottish journalism.”
Caldwell was among a trio of big names to leave the Record at the start of the year, the others being assistant editor, Tom Hamilton; and former managing editor, Derek Stewart-Brown.
Other appointments include David Wynn (from the Kilmarnock Standard) as a reporter, Lisa Boyle (from the Ayrshire Post) as a reporter and Simon Houston (freelance, mainly for the Record) as deputy features editor.
