THE former chief reporter at The Herald is to return to the newspaper next week, following nine months work in Ghana, with Voluntary Service Overseas.
Lucy Adams – winner of the Journalist of the Year title at the Scottish Press Awards last year – returns to the paper a week tomorrow.
In Ghana, she acted as an advisor to a Government Department on Advocacy and Fundraising. With her husband, she then flew to East Africa and cycled 1,750 km through Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania.
On her return, she’ll be working four days a week from Tuesday to Friday, still as chief reporter.
She told allmediascotland.com: “The year in Africa was exciting and challenging. I hope I’ve learnt a little bit more about what I’m capable of, when it’s a good time to walk away and when to press on despite being afraid to do so.”
