The shortlist for this year's Scottish Press Awards has been announced.
Taking place next month, the awards – now in their 32nd year – are organised by the Scottish Newspaper Society.
Comprising 21 categories, the awards include Scoop of the Year, Journalist Team of the Year and New Media Journalist of the Year. Journalists and photographers working for newspapers, magazines and news websites based in Scotland, plus Scotland-based journalists and photographers writing exclusively on Scottish affairs for non-Scottish titles, were all eligible to enter.
Topping the winners' list at last year's awards ceremony was Reporter of the Year, Lucy Adams, then of The Herald. Renowned political journalist, Tom Brown, formerly of the Daily Record, received a Lifetime Achievement Award.
