THE blog of a former assistant editor at Scotland on Sunday has been signed up by the Spectator magazine.
For 18 months, Alex Massie has written a mostly political blog for own pleasure, but no cash – except from the likes of Google ads.
And from his “jaundiced libertarian perspective” (his words), he has been recently writing mostly about US politics, a reflection of the five years he spent in Washington DC until last year, as a ‘stringer’ for, among others, The Scotsman, Scotland on Sunday, the Daily Telegraph, and Dublin newspaper, the Sunday Business Post.
Massie also writes for US titles, New Republic and National Review Online.
He is effectively succeeding Stephen Pollard, who gave up his Spectator blog when he was recently appointed editor of the Jewish Chronicle.
