Your Noon Briefing: The National (more), Scot-Buzz appointment for McGurk, etc

THE new, pro-Scots independence daily newspaper, The National – launched yesterday by the publishers of The Herald and the Sunday Herald – has been hailed as a ’cause for thanksgiving’, by the director of the Scottish Newspaper Society.

Says former Scotsman editor, John McLellan, in an article on the website of The Drum media and marketing magazine: “For anyone in the news business these days, the launch of a new daily printed publication is a cause not just for celebration but thanksgiving; giving thanks that in the age of digitally-driven agnosticism, there is still belief in the printed word.”

“Antiques Road Trip and Celebrity Antiques Road Trip are STV Productions longest-running series for BBC.

“Celebrity Antiques Road Trip follows pairs of celebrities as they take on the challenge of finding the most profitable antique. Filming will take place throughout the UK with each celebrity teamed with one of the show’s popular regular experts to guide them through the antiques trail.
