AND firstly, congratulations to Alison Shields, who has been appointed Police Scotland head of communications – as recruitment continues to complete the body’s new corporate communications structure.
Alison is currently head of Deputy First Minister Communications at the Scottish Government and is also the First Minister’s official spokeswoman.
She starts with the service at the end of this month.

MEANWHILE, it is being reported that Ben Riley-Smith has been appointed political correspondent at The Telegraph, having been, up to now, the Telegraph’s Scottish Political reporter.

ALSO at The Telegraph, Marion Dakers has been appointed Financial Services editor, at the Daily Telegraph, having previously been City editor at The Herald, which she joined in August.

AND as noted here, the business editor of The Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday newspapers has handed his notice in, to leave.
Terry Murden is to – he says, in an announcement – “take advantage of a number of approaches”.
