AS a new intake of journalism students begin their university or college courses, for at least some there will be the no small task of having to learn shorthand.
And among the resources to be found on iTunes, of the two offerings found arguably the most easily in a search, one is from Edinburgh Napier University.
The other search result comes up with ‘Shorthand Sue’ and her five albeit video-based (as opposed to podcast-based) lessons, explaining teeline shorthand, for beginners onwards.
Found here – as part of the iTunes spin-off, the academic courses-based iTunes U – the videos also bear the name, Liverpool John Moores University.
Actually, the same set of lessons can be found on YouTube, episode one shared below.
And, as for the Edinburgh Napier offering, it’s a bunch of podcasts to help students practice their shorthand at various words-per-minute speeds.
Check out the Napier podcasts here.
