READERSHIP figures in Scotland for the print editions of both The Herald and the Daily Star of Scotland newspaper have each fallen, year-on-year, by in excess of 30 per cent – according to a survey of adult readership habits.
Says the National Readership Survey, the print edition of The Herald attracted an average daily, adult readership in Scotland between October last year and September this year of an estimated 106,000.
But between October 2011 and September 2012, the figure was estimated to be 160,000 – some 33 per cent higher.
For the Daily Star of Scotland, the October 2012-September 2013 average daily readership in Scotland was an estimated 104,000, down 31 per cent on the estimated 149,000 during the previous 12 months.

* The Daily Telegraph – estimated 40,000 between October 2011 and September 2012 versus 50,000 October 2012 and September 2013 – up 27 per cent;

* The Independent – 19,000 versus 17,000 – down nine per cent;

* Scottish Daily Mail – 214,000 versus 235,000 – up ten per cent;
