WELCOME to Media Movers, reporting the latest moves within the Scottish media, including promotions and retirements.
AND thanks to The Scotsman for sharing these two items of info: First, that BBC Scotland journalist, Raymond Buchanan, is today joining the Glasgow pumps and valves giant, the Weir Group, as ‘group communications’.
He succeeds Jonathan Milne who is leaving – next month, after a handover period – to take up a comms role in the oil and gas sector, in Aberdeen. Milne is a former deputy editor of BBC Scotland’s Reporting Scotland and joined Weir from chartered accountants body, ICAS.
Says The Scotsman: “Buchanan, who spent 14 years at the BBC, will get an extra team member as well. Ross Easton, who arrives at Weir today [September 9] from SSE, takes the group’s media team headcount to five.”
