A TROON edition of the Ayrshire Post newspaper has been launched this week, with a celebratory party taking place in the town’s concert hall this evening, to mark the occasion.
The edition hit the streets on Wednesday, and, says the paper, “represents a major investment in the Ayrshire Post, which is part of Trinity Mirror’s Media Scotland stable, and often runs to 128 pages”.
The new edition is the brainchild of Ayrshire Post editor, Cheryl McEvoy and follows the launch, 21 years ago, of an edition for the Carrick geographical area covered by the title.
In a statement issued by the paper, McEvoy is quoted, as saying: “I am proud to have realised our ambition to expand at a time when the industry has never been under such pressure.
“We have a top team who have worked tirelessly on the launch and we aim to keep up the momentum.
“The extra space allows us to cover Troon not just well, but brilliantly, and our initial feedback from the readers has been exceptional.
“We have a number of exciting initiatives planned in the months ahead.”
