THE chief reporter at The Press and Journal newspaper has been appointed business editor.
Says the paper’s editor, Damian Bates, of Ryan Crighton’s appointment: “Ryan has proved himself to be a really strong reporter, able to dig out exclusive after exclusive in his time as chief reporter with The Press and Journal. We both agree that those skills are vital to take our business coverage to the next level and I know Ryan will bring a totally new dimension to the business pages.”
Adds a P&J media release: “Ryan joined The Press and Journal as a trainee reporter in 2007. He earned the title of Scotland’s ‘Young Journalist of the Year’ in 2008 and was runner-up in the same category three years later. He has been chief reporter on The Press and Journal since January 2010, during which time he was named DC Thomson’s ‘Reporter of the Year’. In April 2013, he was shortlisted for ‘Reporter of the Year’ at the Scottish Press Awards.”
