WELCOME to Media Movers, reporting the latest moves within the Scottish media, including promotions and retirements.
FIRSTLY, Lindsay Herron is setting up as a media consultant, after leaving Rangers Football Club, where he was, latterly, editor-in-chief of media content – online, in print, in book and DVD form and also television.
He was at the club for over 12 years and leaves following a review of the business.
Before joining Rangers, he was five years at the Scottish Daily Express (where he was chief sportswriter) and, before that, six years at The Scottish Sun, with a short spell in between at the now no-longer Today newspaper.
He is in the process of designing a website, to promote his various services, including PR and comms, events and broadcasting.

THE managing director of a subsidiary of Romanes Media Group – which owns the likes of the Greenock Telegraph and the Dunfermline Press – is moving on.
After 16 years at Berkshire Media Group, Amanda Gee is quoted saying she is intending to do “something different”.
In a Romanes Media Group media release, she is quoted, as saying: “Although I will be really sad to leave the company, it feels like the right time to try something different. The senior management team here at BMG are very capable of driving this business forward, they are an amazing group of people and I have been very privileged to have worked with them.”
Adds the release: “Going forward, the senior management of BMG will report directly to the managing director of Romanes Media Group, Graham Morrison.”
He is quoted, as saying: “I know this has been a difficult decision for Amanda but we respect and understand she wants a change. Amanda has been a passionate and dedicated servant of the company and has propelled the business forward at a time of significant change. She leaves BMG with our best wishes for the future. I look forward to working closely with the management team in place at Reading.”

AND finally, as reported yesterday, the head of the Edinburgh office at PR agency, The BIG Partnership, has left.
Nicki Sturzaker joined the company three years ago, having previously worked in London and, earlier this year, she was named vice-chair of the Scottish division of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
It’s not known what she is now planning to do.
