THE Glasgow-based media and marketing magazine, The Drum, has been named Business Magazine of the Year at UK-wide awards celebrating the best of magazine publishing.
The magazine was presented with the accolade at the PPA Awards held last night in London and organised by the Professional Publishers Association.
Said Gordon Young, editor of The Drum: “As many have been cutting back, The Drum has continued to invest over the last three years and now has more journalists on its team than ever before.
“It is great to see this strategy pay off and it really does demonstrate that content is king.”
From its base on the Gallowgate, The Drum is now reporting, UK-wide and beyond. It says that 19 per cent of its web traffic now comes from the USA.
Other winners last night included Radio Times (Consumer Magazine of the Year), NME (Chairman’s Award) and Time Out (Cover of the Year).
