THE UK sales figures for newspapers between December last year and last month saw the Daily Record sell an average 254,366 copies, down 9.32 per cent on the average net circulation for 12 months’ previously, December 2011 to May 2012.
According to the Audit Bureau of Circulation, the UK figures for the country’s main newspaper titles read as follows:
Daily Mirror – average net circulation, December 2012-May 2013 – 1,093,197; down 4.86 per cent on the corresponding figure from 12 months previously;
Daily Record – 254,366; down 9.23 per cent;
Daily Star – 534,924; down 13.06 per cent;
The Sun – 2,295,661; down 12.19 per cent;
Daily Express – 527,717; down 9.01;
Daily Mail – 1,824,026; down 7.37 per cent;
Daily Telegraph – 547,002; down 5.87 per cent;
Financial Times – 271,290; down 14.24 per cent;
Guardian – 197,120; down 10.43 per cent;
i – 299,763; up 15.66 per cent;
Independent – 75,967; down 28 per cent;
Times – 396,593; down 0.57 per cent;
Daily Star Sunday – 340,177; down 37.83 per cent;
The Sun (Sunday) – 1,916,779; n/a;
Sunday Mail – 288,383; down 15.72 per cent;
Sunday Mirror – 1,034,587; down 24.86 per cent;
