POLICE have found the car of a newspaper reporter who has been missing since the weekend.
Fears were raised about the welfare of Clive Dennier after he failed to turned up to work at the Strathspey and Badenoch Herald on Monday.
Earlier today, an appeal for the public to help find him was joined by well-known outdoor pursuits journalist, Cameron McNeish. It was believed Dennier might have gone hill-walking and, indeed, his car has been found in the Knoydart area.
Says a statement issued by Northern Constabulary: “Police can now confirm that following extensive searches across the Highlands for missing man Clive Dennier, his car was located this morning in the Knoydart area west of Invergarry. The car was found by police as part our coordinated search strategy.
“As a result of this development, organised searches of the area have now commenced. At this time, two mountain rescue teams, police search dogs are deployed to the search.
“Mr Dennier’s family have been updated. This remains a very anxious time for them and they ask that their privacy is respected.”
