AN appeal has been issued for information concerning a missing reporter, who might have gone hill-walking over the weekend.
Senior reporter, Clive Dennier, did not arrive for work at the Strathspey and Badenoch Herald yesterday morning, leading to fears for his welfare.
This morning, police are still seeking information about his possible whereabouts.
Said a police statement yesterday: “[We] believe Mr Dennier had spoken about going hill-walking at the weekend, but no one has heard from him since. There is no information about where he may have gone, although he is known to enjoy the hills in the west of the Force area.
“Mr Dennier drives a silver Volkswagen Polo, registration number SX54 CXD. If anyone has seen this vehicle in the past few days, please contact police.”
Today, the police say they are becoming “increasingly concerned”, not least after having drawn a blank searching “car parks in areas he has been known to walk in previously”.
Dennier, 50, has been with the Strathspey and Badenoch Herald for the last two years, beginning as holiday cover for reporter, Jessica Wilkins, before being offered the position permanently when she moved on.
The paper’s editor, Gavin Musgrove, said: “Everyone who knows Clive is very concerned by his disappearance, as it is completely out of character.
“He would have made every effort to let us know he is safe and well.
“Clive is a very talented and experienced reporter who has carried out a great job on the ‘Strathy’ for the past 20 months.
“He has many good friends and all those who care so much about him would ask for anyone who may have seen Clive or his car since he finished work in Grantown-on-Spey late on Friday afternoon to contact the police.”
