THE media (aka advertising space) planning and buying contract for the Daily Record and its Sunday sister, the Sunday Mail, is to remain with Edinburgh-based agency, Media Vision.
It follows an announcement that the papers’ UK publisher, Trinity Mirror, is centralising its media planning and buying account into Aegis UK agencies.
Media Vision is part of Aegis UK.
Says a Trinity Mirror media release: “The Media Scotland [Trinity Mirror’s Scottish operation] account will continue to be run out of Media Vision in Edinburgh – which has worked on the Daily Record and Sunday Mail brands for 12 years – while management of the remaining national and regional brands will be run from Carat’s office [also part of Aegis UK] in Manchester.”
Continues the release: “The move follows the recent announcement of Trinity Mirror’s new publishing operation, which for the first time will establish an integrated approach to the marketing of all newspapers and digital platforms across the group.”
Mark Hollinshead, Trinity Mirror’s chief operating officer, is quoted, as saying: “We feel Aegis is particularly suited to support our new publishing structure given that their regional network perfectly matches our areas of strength geographically. Additionally, their digital know-how will certainly help us to achieve our own digital ambitions and we look forward to working with them.”
