THE deputy editor of The Herald newspaper has been named editor.
Says the paper, Magnus Llewellin will be taking on his new role with the immediate effect.
And word already from inside the building is that he is a popular choice.
Llewellin began his career with the Edinburgh Evening News and, prior to joining The Herald, he worked at the Daily Record, The Scotsman and Business AM.
He succeeds Jonathan Russell who left the company in October, as editor-in-chief of The Herald, along with sister titles, the Sunday Herald and the Evening Times.
He is quoted as saying: ” I am delighted to take on what I regard to be the best job in Scottish journalism at such an important time in this nation’s history.”
