A STATEMENT is expected to be released tomorrow by the publishers of The Scotsman, that it is parting company with the managing director of most of its Scottish titles.
Andrew Richardson has been MD of the Scotland ‘unit’ of Johnston Press for almost a year.
He had previously been MD of The Scotsman Publications Ltd – comprising The Scotsman, Scotland on Sunday and the Edinburgh Evening News – and was the beneficiary last year of a managerial shake-up, which involved all Johnston’s titles in Scotland, except a small number in the Scottish Borders which were designated part of the publisher’s North-east of England ‘unit’.
No other details are available.
One of Richardson’s final acts was to inform staff on Friday that a pay review scheduled for this month had been postponed for at least six months as part of a company-wide move.
