A FEW hours remain for entries to an awards competition that seeks to recognise the best of political writing.
The 20th anniversary edition of The Orwell Prize has its deadline of midnight tonight for entries to its journalism and book awards.
Say the organisers: “The prizes are awarded to the work – books and journalism – which comes closest to George Orwell’s ambition ‘to make political writing into an art’. Each winner receives £3,000 and a plaque bearing Orwell’s quote.”
The longlist of contenders will be announced March 20, with the shortlist following on April 17. The winners will be unveiled on May 15.
