AN application has been lodged by the newspapers, magazines and comics publishers, DC Thomson, to name a street in the city it is headquartered after one of its most famous comic strips.
The application is to have the Dundee street name ‘Bash Street’, The Bash Street Kids being a well-known, long-established strip in The Beano comic.
Says a DC Thomson spokesperson: We’re discussing with Dundee City Council the idea of naming a new street ‘Bash Street’. This is to tie-in with a proposed children’s soft play area within the former works buildings off West Marketgait. We think it’s a fun idea.”
