THE memoirs of a former police detective have been published – with the help of a former Sunday Post reporter.
Bryan McLaughlin’s ‘Crimestopper: Fighting Crime on Scotland’s Streets’ has been written with assistance of Bob Smyth, who last year took voluntary redundancy from The Sunday Post after 20 years on the paper. He began at the paper’s publishers, DC Thomson, as a sub-editor on sister title, The Courier.
McLaughlin’s career was spent in Glasgow and includes some of Scotland’s most notorious crimes and criminals.
He and Smyth met when McLaughlin was a crime consultant on The Sunday Post.
Meanwhile, since last year, Smyth – who is now working freelance – has had crime-related stories published in almost all of Scotland’s daily and Sunday newspapers.
‘Crimestopper: Fighting crime on Scotland’s Streets’ is published by Black and White Publishing.
