THE former editor of The Scottish Sun, David Dinsmore, has been appointed director of operations at the paper’s publishers, News International.
Dinsmore has been recently working as managing editor at The Sun, taking on the post initially as cover for staff involved in preparing for the Leveson Inquiry into Press standards, which has now finished taking evidence.
It was 22 years ago that he worked his first freelance shift at The Scottish Sun, becoming editor six years ago. Two years ago, he was named NI general manager in Scotland, before his current posting.
The new role – which he begins next month and involves, among things, responsibility for printing, distribution, paper buying and syndication – will see him based in London, permanently.
