THE front page of today’s edition of The Scotsman has earned plaudits on a major sports website.
Says the Yahoo! / Eurosport site previewing today’s Olympics action, The Scotsman is named as ‘Front Page of the Day’ for its coverage of recent controversy involving empty seats at venues.
Says the site: “The Scotsman illustrates its story of soldiers filling gymnastics seats with a superb photo.”
The recognition will be all the more gratifying as The Scotsman – like the wider Scottish newspaper sector – was awarded very limited accreditation to the sporting spectacle.
Initially awarded a single reporter pass, its allocation was finally upped to two reporters and a photographer.
