A DEBATE taking place in Glasgow about the Leveson Inquiry into Press standards has added the former editor-in-chief at The Scotsman Publications Ltd to its roster of speakers.
John McLellan – who parted company with TSPL in April – gave evidence to the inquiry in January, which was set up following allegations of phone hacking by the now closed News of the World newspaper.
He joins a previously announced list of speakers: Allan Rennie, editor-in-chief of the Daily Record and Sunday Mail newspapers, along with Atholl Duncan, former head of news and current affairs at BBC Scotland, and lawyer and The Scottish Sun on Sunday columnist, Aamer Anwar.
The debate is being chaired by the newly-appointed director of the Scottish Newspaper Society, Jim Chishoim.
Tickets for the event are free, by visiting levesondebate.eventbrite.com.
It is taking place at the Radisson Blu Hotel Glasgow from 6.30pm next Thursday.
