A magazine produced by Dundee-based publishers, DC Thomson, has turned around a special edition, celebrating The Queen's Diamond Jubilee, in doube-quick time.
While newspapers have been able to create their own celebratory supplements within a matter of hours, the usually longer production timescale for magazines means that the title, My Weekly, has done well to get on the newsstands as quickly as it did, yesterday.
The current issue comprises 104 pages and is priced at £1.99. It is going to available for four weeks.
In a DC Thomson statement, My Weekly editor, Sally Hampton, is quoted, as saying: “The Diamond Jubilee presents the perfect opportunity for My Weekly to do something extra special for our readers, advertisers and retail partners. Research and consumer feedback shows that My Weekly readers are very loyal to the Queen – these are the women who organised Big Lunches, camped out in the Mall or were on Thames watching the pageant. Despite the holiday weekend, my team have been working hard throughout the celebrations to produce not only a unique Diamond Jubilee souvenir, but to ensure that the core My Weekly values of quality, warmth and reader involvement are at the heart of It.”
My Weekly – which was founded in 1910 – has an audited average circulation of 124,066.
