A SCOTS magazine dedicated to the running of events – including birthday parties, weddings and weekend breaks – is launching on Thursday.
Dundee-based INVITE will be published twice a year, and say the publishers, the first edition will “include spring/summer styling ideas for events, dinner party recipes and special features such as vintage entertaining, Asian and British wedding traditions, Easter entertaining and ‘Event Life’. The regular travel-focused, ‘Explore Scotland’ feature will showcase Isle of Skye and Dundee. Everything featured in the magazine will be available to buy or hire in Scotland.”
The magazine is being published by new Dundee publishing company, Shoogle Publishing, and is the brainchild of Eleanor Whitby, an experienced events professional.
In a statement issued by Shoogle Publishing, Whitby is quoted, as saying: “INVITE is about bringing people to events and events to people. The magazine offers information to help readers be sociable and one step ahead when it comes to planning parties and get-togethers. There is nothing in the market in a print format that offers this kind of content.”
Its editor is Rhoda Miller, formerly of local newspapers, comics and magazine publishers, DC Thomson.
Issue one is to have a 10,000 print run, is to be distributed across 417 Scottish outlets including WH Smiths, and will have a cover price of £3.70.
