THE Scottish comedian and newspaper columnist, Frankie Boyle, has described tabloid newspapers as presenting a “tortured, warped reality”.
In an interview with Edinburgh-Glasgow events guide, The List magazine – which editor, Jonny Ensall, feels necessary to flag up with a warning but also an invitation to find “some food for thought” – Boyle is asked about, among other things, the Leveson Inquiry into press standards.
The Scottish Sun columnist is also quoted describing tabloid newspapers: “Let’s be honest, they’re like some bleak telescope focussed on a schizoid apocalypse. But you do get the odd funny headline.”
