The editor of Holyrood magazine narrowly missed out on a major industry garland last night after her column was nominated for a Professional Publishers Association award.
Mandy Rhodes was up for contention in the Columnist of the Year (business media) category, but lost out to Helen Edwards of Marketing magazine.
Fellow Scot Eddie Mair, broadcaster and columnist for the Radio Times, was also nominated for Columnist of the Year (consumer media) category, but the gong went to Danny Wallace of Shortlist magazine.
In a statement issued by the PPA, chief executive, Barry McIlheney, is quoted, as saying: “Congratulations to all the winners of this year’s PPA Awards, who can be proud of being singled out among a very strong field for their innovation and commitment to excellence.
“Every year the PPA Awards reminds us that the talent within our sector is truly world-class and we are proud to represent this vital part of the UK’s creative industries.”
