Five daily and Sunday newspapers have seen their latest sales figures in Scotland drop by in excess of ten per cent between May last year and last month.
Says the Audit Bureau of Circulation, the average Scottish year-on-year sales for the Daily Star of Scotland, The Guardian, The Times, The Observer and the Sunday Herald were all down, in double digits: 20.5 per cent, 11.6 per cent, 12 per cent, 11.5 per cent and 23.5 per cent respectively.

Daily Star of Scotland – Sunday down 9.2 per cent (27,165 to 24,655 = 2,510), Scottish News of the World down 9.1 per cent (264,592 to 240,523 = 24,069), Sunday Mail down 7.6 per cent (358,108 to 330,761 = 27,347), Sunday Mirror down 3.2 per cent (23,292 to 22,540 = 752), People up one per cent (13,002 to 13,126 = 124), Scottish Sunday Express down 1.4 per cent (36,152 to 35,634 = 518), Sunday Post down six per cent (227,963 to 214,377 = 13,586), Scottish Mail on Sunday up seven per cent (96,442 to 103,218 = 6,776).
Independent on Sunday down 0.3 per cent (6,846 to 6,824 = 22), Observer down 11.5 per cent (19,841 to 17,559 = 2,282), Scotland on Sunday down 4.7 per cent (54,310 to 51,752 = 2,558), Sunday Herald down 23.5 per cent (42,098 to 32,189 = 9,909), Sunday Telegraph down three per cent (18,742 to 18,174 = 568), Sunday Times Scotland down 8.4 per cent (64,806 to 59,342 = 5,464).
