SEVEN magazines have been shortlisted for the title ‘Scottish school magazine of the year’, with a further 14 in the running for other titles in the annual competition run by the Scottish division of the Professional Publishers Association.
Says a statement issued by PPA Scotland: “This is the fifth year of an unique competition to encourage, recognise and reward young creative talent within all secondary schools in Scotland.
“The distinguished panel of judges, chaired by Fraser Allen, managing director of White Light Media, was impressed not only by the enthusiasm, competence and boldness displayed within the pages of each submission, but also by the quality and professionalism of the entries.”
The seven are: Coatbridge High School, North Lanarkshire, for Rare Beast; Dollar Academy, Clackmannanshire, for The Galley; Douglas Academy, East Dunbartonshire, for Juvenis; Kilgraston School, Perth and Kinross, for The Habit – Good Food Issue. Paible High School, North Uist, Western Isles, for Paible’s Got Talent; Stirling High School, Stirling, for The Insider; and Trinity High School, Renfrewshire, for Trinity Times.
The winners will be announced in Edinburgh on the 17th of next month.
