Dundee-based regional daily, The Courier, couldn’t help showing its pride in its former sport editor, Graeme Dey, who is now one of Scotland’s new batch of MSPs.
The 48 year-old won the Angus South seat for the SNP with a majority of 10,583 – capturing 58.47 per cent of the overall vote.
Describing Dey as “formerly of this parish”, The Courier carried a picture of Dey and party workers, rejoicing after the count, with the caption: ‘Oh happy Dey!’, and also printed two solo pictures – one of him wreathed in smiles on Friday and another – captioned, ‘Glum Graeme’ – showing him not so happy at the count in Glenrothes at last year’s General Election which was, of course, dominated by Scottish Labour.
