The Sunday Herald is to break slightly from its single-section format, by launching a sports supplement.
The paper – which in January revamped to become a single-section, 'news magazine' on high-quality newsprint – is publishing the 20-page supplement from this weekend. The move – says editor, Richard Walker – is a response to reader feedback that, because of the lack of separate sections, it is no longer possible to share the paper at the one time.
This weekend's sports supplement is to include a poster previewing the Scotland versus Brazil friendly football match taking place on Sunday afternoon, in London.
The latest set of official circulation figures had the Sunday Herald suffering a 21 per cent year-on-year drop in its sales in Scotland, down to an average 32,936 during last month.
It is understood that sales have since no longer dropped, stabilising around 32,000-33,000.
