A former editor of both The Scotsman and Scotland on Sunday newspapers has been appointed a consultant editor at the Daily Mail.
And Iain Martin was yesterday given the star treatment on his debut as a political columnist also for the paper.
As well as being accorded a full page, complete with picture, he is introduced as “a formidable and fearless new Voice on Politics and Power”.
Following his spell at Scotsman Publications, he joined the Telegraph Group – becoming deputy editor at the Sunday Telegraph – before being appointed deputy editor at Wall Street Journal Europe.
Martin's new political column is also carried in the Scottish Daily Mail.
