The assistant news editor for the The Herald group of newspapers has been promoted to group news editor.
Ian Marland succeeds Calum MacDonald a week on Monday, who, on the same day becomes group digital editor.
Marland joined The Herald five years ago, as night news editor.
It's understood he was previously at The Scotsman and, before that, the Press Association (Scotland).
