Large-sized posters featuring some of the best newspaper front pages in Scotland in recent months are being sold on behalf of the Journalists’ Charity.
It follows their appearance at the Glasgow and West of Scotland Press Ball on Saturday evening, on behalf of the charity, which attracted 350 people.
The A0-sized posters – which adorned the walls of the Glasgow Hilton Hotel venue where the Ball was staged – are now available for £30 each. There are ten available, on a first-come, first-served basis. The £300 raised will be added to the £15,000-plus raised on the night through a raffle and an auction of prizes, including VIP tickets to the T in the Park music festival.
On the evening, every guest had the opportunity to win £13.1 million, courtesy of a complimentary ticket for the National Lottery, courtesy of sponsors, Camelot. The Lotto draw was beamed, live into the room where the guests were gathered.
Says organiser, Archie Mackay, who runs PR consultancy, Media2k: “It was a pity no-one won, although it’s possible someone did but simply didn’t want to let on and have to buy everyone on their table a drink.”
The evening included a showcase from Greg Barrowman, the 18 year-old cousin of John Barrowman, alias Torchwood's Captain Jack.

* Edinburgh Evening News – ‘Hell on Wheels’, accompanying a story about the stepping down of the boss of the trams project in the capital – November 3 2010
* Sunday Mail – ‘Monsters Mansion’, about jailed killer, William Beggs – August 1 2010
* Scotland on Sunday – ‘SAS in daring desert raid’ – February 27 2011

Already gone are posters featuring front pages of The Scotsman, the Sunday Herald and the Evening Times.
