THE Dundee evening newspaper, the Evening Telegraph, has seen its average sales increase, compared to six and 12 months’ previously.
Says the newspaper circulation audit body, the Audit Bureau of Circulation, the paper sold an average 23,331 copies during the six months up to December, which was up 0.3 per cent on the average sales figure for the six months leading up to June last year and up 3.4 per cent on the average circulation during the six months leading to December the year before.
But among Scotland’s daily and evening regional newspapers, it stood alone.
Its Glasgow counterpart, the Evening Times, saw its July-December 2010 average sales figure of 54,255 represent a drop of 4.6 per cent on six months’ previously and 8.6 per cent on 12 months’ previously.
ABC issues the sales figures for regional newspapers every six months. Tomorrow, allmediascotland will begin reporting the figures for Scotland’s weekly regional newspapers.

Evening Express: July-December 2010 average 49,253 – down 2.7 per cent on six months’ previously (average of 50,630) and 3.3 per cent on 12 months’ previously (average of 50,947)
Press and Journal: July-December 2010 average 72,767 – down 2.3 per cent on six months’ previously (average of 74,457) and 3.5 per cent on 12 months’ previously (average of 75,440)
The Courier: July-December 2010 average 63,052 – down three per cent on six months’ previously (average of 65,012) and 4.3 per cent on 12 months’ previously (average of 65,871)
Edinburgh Evening News: July-December 2010 average 41,968 – down 2.5 per cent on six months’ previously (average of 43,046) and 5.6 per cent on 12 months’ previously (average of 44,464)
Greenock Telegraph: July-December 2010 average 14,720 – down 3.1 per cent on six months’ previously (average of 15,186) and 3.4 per cent on 12 months’ previously (average of 15,241)
Paisley Daily Express: July-December 2010 average 7,726 – down three per cent on six months’ previously (average of 7,963) and 7.1 per cent on 12 months’ previously (average of 8,313)
