THE literary editors at The Herald and Scotland on Sunday newspapers, plus the editor of the Scottish Review of Books, are to share the same platform during Glasgow’s upcoming book festival, Aye Write!
The Herald’s Rosemary Goring and Stuart Kelly of Scotland on Sunday are to be joined by the Review’s Alan Taylor, who is also a diarist on the Sunday Herald.
The trio are to ‘go back’ 30 years, to 1981, when Alasdair Gray’s Lanark was published, and compare it with three other novels published that year: William Boyd’s A Good Man in Africa, Muriel Spark’s Loitering with Intent, and Allan Massie’s The Death of Men.
Aye Write! is taking place between the 4th and the 12th of next month.
