THE best press coverage in Scotland about France last night saw journalists from, among others, The Scottish Sun and The Herald toasting the ‘Auld Alliance’.
At what was the first awards ceremony of its type, ATOUT FRANCE, the France Tourism Development Agency, handed out magnums of champagne to the authors of three articles, including one about travelling to France by train from Glasgow.
Each of the articles considered for an award had been set up with the help of the agency, which is hosting a France-Meets-the-Media story ideas event on the second of next month, in both Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Say the organisers: “More and more Scottish journalists travel on press trips to France, and more and more articles [about France] are published in the Scottish press.”
