A trio of newspapers have enjoyed increases in their sales in Scotland, compared to this time last year.
Says the Audit Bureau of Circulation, the Independent, the Independent on Sunday and the Scottish Daily Express each enjoyed year-on-year increases between November last year and last month: by 8.3 per cent, 0.6 per cent and 2.5 per cent, respectively.
Across all the titles, the sales figures read:
Scottish Daily Mirror (24,343 in November 2010 versus 26,217 in November 2009, down 1874 or 7.1 per cent), Daily Record (289,720 versus 308,804, down 19,084 or 6.2 per cent), Daily Star of Scotland (75,595 versus 85,309, down 9714 or 11.4 per cent), Scottish Sun (338,246 versus 351,024, down 12,778 or 3.6 per cent), and Scottish Daily Express (69,917 versus 68,209 up 1708 or 2.5 per cent).
Scottish Daily Mail (112,404 versus 117,033 down 4629 or 3.9 per cent), Daily Telegraph (20,609 versus 22,801, down 2201 or 9.6 per cent), Financial Times (4164 versus 4499, down 335 or 7.4 per cent), The Herald (52,545 versus 56,543, down 3998 or 7.1 per cent), The Guardian (13,607 versus 14,573, down 966 or 6.6 per cent), and The Independent (7909 versus 7302, up 607 or 8.3 per cent).
The Scotsman (41,752 versus 45,225, down 3473 or 7.6 per cent), The Times (21,586 versus 25,337, down 3751 or 14.8 per cent), Daily Star of Scotland – Sunday (26,220 versus 27,467, down 1247 or 4.5 per cent), Scottish News of the World (258,288 versus 282,015, down 23,727 or 8.4 per cent), and Sunday Mail (350,883 versus 375,347, down 24,464 or 6.5 per cent).
Scottish Sunday Mirror (21,995 versus 22,934, down 939 or 4.1 per cent), The People (13,323 versus 13,648, down 325 or 2.4 per cent), Scottish Sunday Express (35,035 versus 37,882, down 2847 or 7.5 per cent), Sunday Post (226,274 versus 236,126, down 9852 or 4.2 per cent), and Scottish Mail on Sunday (100,016 versus 102,680, down 2664 or 2.6 per cent).
Independent on Sunday (6278 versus 6240, up 38 or 0.6 per cent), The Observer (17,991 versus 20,215, down 224 or 11 per cent), Scotland on Sunday (52,912 versus 55,877, down 2965 or 5.3 per cent) and Sunday Herald (41,314 versus 43,002, down 1688 or 3.9 per cent).
Sunday Telegraph (17,715 versus 20,460, down 2745 or 13.4 per cent) and Sunday Times Scotland (59,239 versus 66,655, down 7416 or 11.1 per cent).
