Announced last week, the publisher of The Herald newspaper has appointed a former News International senior manager as its new advertising director.
The Herald & Times Group – which also publishes the Sunday Herald and Evening Times newspapers – has taken on Sean Duffy, who, until a few months ago, was marketing director for News International in Scotland, before he fell victim to a major reshuffle of editorial and ad sales personnel at, among others, the Sunday Times Scotland newspaper.
He has also worked at BskyB, STV and CBS Outdoor and News International. He takes up the post next month.
In a statement issued by the Herald & Times Group, managing director, Tim Blott, is quoted, saying: “We are delighted Sean is joining us to give a wider media perspective as we develop our print and online brands in an ever changing market.”
Duffy, meanwhile, is quoted, saying: “I am excited to be joining The Herald & Times group at a time when they have a clear focus on developing truly integrated brands in the Scottish Media market. Our challenge is to create engaging, product driven visual advertising solutions for our clients that reflects the way in which our readers and users migrate and consume our product across platforms.”
