The circulation gap between the two biggest-selling daily newspapers has widened for a third, consecutive month.
Say the August ABCs, the gap – as measured by Average Net Circulation – between sales in Scotland of the Sun and the Daily Record was 43,528. In July, it was 42,622; in June, it was 41,360; and in May, it was 39,183.
In August, The Scottish Sun’s average daily sale in Scotland was 344,006 (compared to 336,0232 in July), as opposed to the Record’s 300,483 (compared to 293,4012 in July).
Meanwhile, the average sale in Scotland for the country’s biggest-selling newspaper, the Sunday Mail, was 363,711. In July, it was 354,519; in June, it was 354,758; and in May, it was 358,108.
Average Net Circulation figures include free give-aways. The figures were released at midday.
