A former editor of Scottish Field magazine is set to showcase a personal library of photographs featuring many of the famous people he has interviewed over the years.
Writer and journalist, Roddy Martine, has spent a lifetime meeting celebrities, more often than not with a camera in hand.
Now, the Scots socialite is preparing to put the selection of snapshots on show in an exhibition opening this Sunday.
In a double-page spread in yesterday’s Scottish Mail on Sunday, the 64 year-old spoke of the larger-than-life characters he has encountered during his career, illustrated by a clutch of fascinating photographs.
Said the Mail: “… the former editor of Scottish Field magazine built up a huge collection of photographs, including snaps of stars caught in unguarded moments in unlikely locations.”
Among those featured in the article were Joanna Lumley, Billy Connolly, Ewan McGregor, Peter Firth, Quentin Crisp, Muriel Gray and Paul McCartney.
‘Encounters from a Life: The Photographs of Roddy Martine’ opens this Sunday, at Henderson’s of Edinburgh Arts Venue, Hanover Street, Edinburgh.
